Default HippoFinds: Awesomely Bad Movies

HippoJuice is a HUGE fan of movies that are SO BAD that they become great. In fact, we love bad movies so much that we dedicated a whole web page to them and do "bad movie reviews" during our podcasts.

So we want to know, what are some bad movies you love?

Well, for starters, my "guilty pleasure" would be Charlie's Angels, Full Throttle. Oh yes. It's not even the FIRST Charlie's Angels, but the SECOND one - with Bernie Mac as Bosley.

The Quick and the Dead.... I watch it and laugh every single time its on cable...

An amazing cast...with some of the worst dialogue ever written...Leonardo Di Caprio ( who can't act his way ouot of a paper bag to begin with) is embarrassingly awful in it...and I get douche chills every time Sharon Stone throws her Father's old Sheriff's Badge to Russel Crowe and utter's "The Law's come back to town"...ugh...even Gene Hackmans brilliant rant chastizing the poor, simple townsfolk can't save this intrepdily horrid waste of 2 hours...

Default Street Fighter - watch for next week

Yesterday we reviewed Ski School and chose Street Fighter for the next "Awesomely Bad Movie"

So everyone grab a copy (hopefully you don't have to pay for it) and some popcorn, and get ready to make fun of it on July 9, 2009!

Marie, do the boys ever allow you to bash really bad chick flicks because there are so many it would take weeks. There are a few that I have watched and was mad that I could not get those 2 hours back.

We haven't gotten into chick flicks yet, but I don't see why we couldn't. And don't worry about us running out of bad movies to review - we'll die before that happens.

Next week is Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997): Watch for July 29th's podcast

The movie talk segments are a lot of fun... Why don't you guys showcase *Your own* films during your podcast?...Maybe you could even show stuff from other indy film makers who do some good work?

You guys actually *MAKE* movies...that point can get lost during your podcast...you know what goes into making a film... you can provide some really interesting insight when you talk about *any* flick...

Just sayin' (cause those are my favorite bits) ...but no one asked me, so I'll shut the fuck up now.

When we do have a new YouTube video of ours to show, of course we show it and talk about it during the podcast! We just don't whip them out as fast as other things. But discussing technical aspects of other people's movies is something we could do... (as if we were there on set and know what we're talking about!)

We don't catch too many indie movies, but we do take requests.

Hahaha, it's cool - they were good suggestions! And let us know when you're in our neck of the woods for sure!

I was recently reminded of the greatness that is Hotrod - another movie great.

The most amazingly bad movie of my life, is the masterpiece called "The Wickerman" starring Nicolas Cage. Does it have Nicolas Cage running around in a bear suit punching wild forest women in the face? YES. I howl with laughter every time i watch it. Heres a quick preview of its magnificence.

I also found the entire movie on youtube so no need to download it unless you want to take a couple clips from it.

Default Hercules on Hold, The Ice Pirates today!

So, the 1983 Hercules with Lou Ferrigno is proving harder to acquire than we thought. We ended up finding it on Netflix, so we signed up for an account and should be getting the DVD in a day or so.

In the meantime, for tonight, we watched The Ice Pirates, which I'm sure you'll enjoy just as much.

Always remember to check out http://hippojuice.com/hippoBadMovie.html to make sure you're following along with our movies!

I've always been a fan of Big Trouble in Little China. Even as a young child I knew the movie was awful, but I never turned down the opportunity to watch it.

Which Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is it? The old one or the new one? Old one is great, new one is just bad.
